Developing a sensory brand identity and recurring design collateral for an intimate, monthly dining experience where food, art, and conversation collide.
Freudian Bites is a unique supper club series hosted by curator Huma Kabakcı on the last Thursday of every month. It serves as a space where a guest artist and a chef collaborate to create a sensory journey through four playful small plates. Our role was to craft a visual identity that mirrors this intersection of literal and intellectual digestion. Beyond the core branding, we provide ongoing design support for the monthly events, creating bespoke menus that guide guests through the evening's dialogue and culinary narrative.

Our design strategy centered on the concept of "commensality", the bonding experience of sharing a table. We needed to translate the playful yet analytical spirit of the name into a visual system that feels both domestic and curated. We developed a flexible identity that adapts to the shifting themes of the monthly collaborations. Specifically, for the menu design, we treat the "four playful small plates" as chapters in a story, ensuring the layout and typography spark curiosity and conversation just as much as the food itself.
